RSRL Supports Life Education Oxfordshire and Dorset
February 9, 2009
Research Sites Restoration Ltd (RSRL) has sponsored local children’s charity Life Education Oxfordshire and Dorset with a donation from their sponsorship and donation budget.
The funds will be used to support the education of children in schools surrounding the Harwell and Winfrith sites. It also includes sponsorship of school certificates which will be handed out to children following their visit to the mobile classroom.
The Children’s charity focuses on health awareness and drug prevention. Pupils from the age of 3 – 11 are taught about the effects and risks associated with the use of drugs, including medicines, alcohol (including binge drinking), smoking, obesity and also providing them with the skills to deal with peer pressure and bullying. Using high tech mobile classrooms they deliver fun, memorable, progressive and age-appropriate health & drug prevention education programmes to over 90% of the children of Oxfordshire and Dorset.
Alan Neal, Managing Director for Research Sites Restoration Ltd, said ‘Children today are facing ever- increasing pressures and temptations to damage their health and futures. The programs run by Life Education aim to equip children with the knowledge, skills and self confidence to make informed healthy decisions for themselves and we are delighted to be able to support our local children with this very worthwhile educational project’.
