Harwell Parish Council receives donation from RSRL

October 15, 2009

Harwell Parish Council benefited from a donation from Research Sites Restoration Ltd on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, to continue with one of its key projects ‘Our Street Corner’.

The project which is run by young people in the parish and qualified youth workers aims to encourage young people within the community to take part in events and activities and contribute towards discussion groups. Topics such as relationships and sexual health are covered in the discussion groups, as well as how to build relationships with other adults and remain friends within peer groups.

So far the project has proven successful and the parish would like the project to continue, providing young children with amenities in the village and forging lasting connections between people of all ages within the community.

Commenting on RSRL's support, Councillor John Fisher said 'we are very grateful for the donation which will be of great benefit to the project's future development, and the young people within the village'.
