New NDA CEO visits RSRL
October 23, 2009
Tony Fountain the new CEO of the NDA visited RSRL at Harwell on Friday 23 October. This was one of the first sites that he has visited since he took up his post earlier in the month.
Tony, accompanied by Malcolm Barents (NDA Programme Manager for RSRL), met the RSRL Directors and Alan Neal gave a presentation outlining the past work at Winfrith and Harwell, and the significant progress on decommissioning so far. Alan then took Tony on a tour of the site, calling in at a number of facilities en route. The visit ended with further discussions during which Tony met TU representatives and Terry Joslin, Chairman of the Harwell Site Stakeholder Group.
The visit provided a good opportunity for RSRL to demonstrate just how much progress has been made towards decommissioning each site and to changing the appearance of the sites as buildings have disappeared. We were very please to be able to welcome Tony so soon after he took up his new role.
