East Hendred Parish Council receives donation from RSRL

December 7, 2009

East Hendred Parish Council benefited from a donation from Research Sites Restoration Ltd on the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus, to continue with one of its key community projects known as “Snells Path Walkway”.

The project is intended to improve the road traffic safety and security of children in their walk between the Hendred’s Primary School and the centre of East Hendred village, which currently has inadequate provision of pavements.

A further principal aim of the project is to improve the village environment by creating a small woodland nature reserve, known as “The Breathing Place” which the children and general public can visit & enjoy, in a non-intrusive manner, via a raised wooden walkway.

Commenting on RSRL's support, Councillor John Sharp said 'we are very grateful for this very generous donation, which will be of great benefit to the community and young people within the village'.
