WEATHER CONDITIONS - WINFRITH

January 5, 2010

The weather forecasts for southern England for the next 24 hours are poor, with a combination of snow, sleet and very cold temperatures. Following a review of these conditions the current advice from RSRL is as follows:

The Site Announcing System, telephone number (0800 169 6306) has been updated noting that the Winfrith Site is open and that RSRL staff are expected to make all reasonable efforts to attend for work as normal if it is safe to do so.

The Winfrith message will be reviewed, and updated again if necessary by 0700 hours on Wednesday 6 January. Any updated message will also be replicated on the RSRL website (home page).

All business travel, including that between the Harwell and Winfrith sites, is suspended on Wednesday 6 January.

Separate messages will be sent by SSHED staff to ATO Holders for teams working on operational or safety related plant.

RSRL will continue to monitor the position and will provide further updates as necessary through notices or the Site Announcing System.
