Presention certificates of Lean competency

March 23, 2010

Presention certificates of Lean competency went to employees Joe Mackrell and Jim Ruddle at Building 462.27 on the Harwell Campus.

The concept of Lean delivers improved customer service by re-thinking conventional working practices and by the continuous elimination of waste in all areas of a business. It also challenges traditional management thinking by positioning front line staff at the centre of all improvement activity. In turn, a Lean operation will require less resource and capital, while increasing capacity and quality. Lean delivers tangible and measurable benefits, including faster delivery, improved quality and the lowering of costs, resulting in substantially improved customer satisfaction. Typically, service businesses employing Lean have enjoyed a consequential 20-40% increase in productivity. Staff also benefit from a recognised accredited qualification and a structured personal development path.

OEE Uk is accredited by the Lean Enterprise Research Centre to assess and certify those individuals who pass the rigorous standards. The certificate of competency is a recognised Lean qualification from Cardiff Business School.
