Children are encouraged to ‘Play, Stay and Keep SAFE’

April 1, 2010

Schoolchildren in Oxfordshire and Dorset are being encouraged to ‘Play, Stay and Keep Safe’ thanks to sponsorship from Research Sites Restoration Ltd.

The resource books ‘Play, Stay and Keep Safe’, issued by the Children’s Safety Education Foundation, are given to children between the ages of 7 and 11 and form part of a vital safety educational programme - providing children and young people with the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to avoid risks at home and while they are out and about.

The books are designed with the co-operation of the emergency services, child protection experts and teachers and cover topics such as bullying, first aid, road safety, fire safety and drug, alcohol and solvent misuse.

Alan Neal, Managing Director for Research Sites Restoration Ltd, said “we are delighted to support this initiative for another year. The health, well-being and safety of young people is vitally important and this initiative complements our philosophy of being community focused”.

Schools to benefit from the resource books include: Harwell Primary, The Hendreds Primary and Chilton Primary in Oxfordshire; and Wool C of E Primary School, Dorset

Head of Harwell Primary School, Mr Cansell said “we are very grateful for the books, which contain relevant topics and essential safety advice to children, teachers and parents. They will be a valuable part of our Annual Safety Day next term".
