NDA publishes strategy for consultation

September 8, 2010

The public body responsible for the clean-up and closure of Harwell and Winfrith today publishes its draft strategy for consultation.

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority sets out its strategic approach towards 19 sites across the UK which it is accountable for.

NDA contracts a number of site licence companies, such as Research Sites Restoration Ltd, to implement programmes to deliver its priorities.

The deadline for responses to the draft strategy is November 24.

The document acknowledges that dates and costs associated with site clean-up are fluctuating as a result of changes currently being made to site programmes. These are expected to firm up in time for publication of the strategy early in 2011.

Please note that NDA representatives will be discussing the draft strategy at the following Site Stakeholder Meetings:

Winfrith SSG - Tuesday, 12th October 2010 at 1830, Winfrith Village Hall

Harwell LSG - Friday, 5th November 2010 at 10.00, Health Protection Agency Training Centre
