SGHWR Building Assessment: Work has started on the building assessment.
Exempt and VLLW Bags: The first of the 600 m3 exempt waste bags have been successfully consigned in sixteen skips. Preparations are underway to dispose of the final 300m3. Preparations are underway to dispose of the next round of VLLW before the end of the financial year. Waste from the previously completed Zebra project is now being processed through the WACM Facility.
Historic Waste Review: Following a review of the historic waste at Winfrith a new detailed programme (2500 activities) has been constructed and the reporting programme and estimate is under construction.
Dragon Tanks: A modification is under construction which is expected to allow physical work on the five tanks by the end of October 2010. The first tank is expected to take six to eight weeks to complete, recognising its complex carbon-filled construction. Following the completion of the first tank the remaining tanks will be completed progressively more quickly.
EAST: The first access point into tank 3 at EAST is complete. The majority of the blocks produced during this task have been decontaminated. Access to tank 4 and the pipe corridor is progressing.
WETP: Exempt waste work is continuing. Decontamination of the Dirty Active Effluent Tank (DAET) is underway. Once completed decontamination of the Encapsulation and receipt tank will start.
