RSRL continues to support children’s Health Education

November 15, 2010

Children in seven schools across Oxfordshire have benefited from sponsorship from Research Sites Restoration Ltd. The funds will be used to support the health education of children in schools through Life Education Centres; these are interactive mobile classrooms that teach positive health messages to primary school children to help them make informed choices.

Chief Executive, Ellen Goodwin of Life Education Centres Thames Valley Ltd said; “I would like to thank RSRL for its continued support. The generous gift we have received from RSRL will go towards enabling more local children to receive specialist education on how to make healthy choices in their lives, including drug prevention education”.

Richard Jones at Hagbourne Church of England Primary School said; “As the Head Teacher of a vibrant primary school it is vital that time is spent looking after the safety and well-being of our children. They must be taught that calculated risk taking is all part of growing up, but should also have the confidence to know when to ask for helpful advice. The Life Education Bus provides opportunities for developing a sense of decision making as well as recognising the boundaries presented by society in general. By incorporating these experiences into our creative curriculum, the strategies learned on the Life Education Bus become even more powerful for life in the future”.

Primary Schools to also benefit from this initiative include: Stockham Primary, Wantage; South Moreton School, Didcot; St James CoE, Hanney; Grove CoE; St Amands Catholic Primary, Wantage and The Hendreds CoE, East Hendred.
