EAST - The first man entry into Tank 3 has been made and a radiological survey completed. This is a significant milestone in the project, being the first entry into the tanks since they went operational in the late 1960s. Diamond wire cutting of the tanks is continuing with the first access to Tank 4 and the pipe corridor now complete. A second access is currently being formed into Tank 4 in preparation for removal of the tank roof. Decontamination of blocks being removed is continuing.

WETP - Post operational clean-out of WETP is continuing, with dismantling of the fill head having been completed. Removal of potentially exempt waste is continuing. Decontamination of the process tanks is underway. Preparations are being made to commence pre-demolition surveys of the cell line and other areas of WETP in advance of commencing the demolition phase.

ALES - Painting of active sea tank 1 is nearing completion. This will then allow final works associated with the new calorifier to be completed and the unit to be brought into operation. Reinstatement of the mixers following refurbishment of the gantries on active sea tank 2 is underway.
