B462 - RM2 Active commissioning has been completed. Permission is required before extended active commissioning can start. The work on the 462 security gate and office block is progressing well. 593 cans have been processed on the head end cells.

BOSS - Decommissioning of the Irradiation Cells in Hangar 10 at Harwell commenced in January. This work was brought forward from the outyears using a portfolio funding opportunity. The work should be complete by the end of the financial year.

Construction of access routes into the BEPO air ducts is underway at Harwell. This will enable man-access into the ducts for the purposes of characterising the status of the BEPO reactor.

B220 - A pre-Christmas delivery of new polymer has allowed the Team to restart radium waste encapsulation and get the programme back on track. An NII audit of the radium project as part of Licence Condition 25 was completed and deemed satisfactory.

Good progress is being made to deal with a number of “problem” legacy waste packages. POCO of the building has continued with another laboratory and an outbuilding being cleared of redundant equipment and waste; 12 tonnes of metal was recycled. The waste filters trapped in the top of the old style yellow Graviner flask have been successfully extracted. The waste material held in the body of the Graviner flask will now be addressed.

LETP - A large waste container (HHISO number 7) has been dispatched to B462 for low level disposal at the low level waste repository (LLWR).

A cement feed blockage has been encountered between the stock vessel and fillhead at HLA, which has prevented encapsulation work this week. Work to resolve the issue is ongoing.
