Dragon & SGHWR - Decommissioning of the first Dragon fission product delay bed is proceeding with removal of the non active pipes nearing completion. This will then allow access to the active pipes for removal. Doses to members of the operational team are being monitored in real time and are consistent with estimated doses for the task. Analysis results for the outer vessel are awaited to allow final disposal.
Processing of the first A59.1 ISO is continuing, with the container having been unpacked, and the assessment to allow waste disposal is being progressed. Preparation of A58 has been completed ready for processing the remaining ISOs.
The waste justification document for processing B23 waste through WACM has been prepared and is awaiting approval. This will allow processing of cabriolets of B23 waste through WACM to commence.
WETP & EAST - The pre-demolition survey of the process area has commenced in preparation for demolition of WETP. Processing of exempt waste through WETP is nearing completion.
In EAST, removal of the roof on Tank 4 has been successfully completed and cutting and removal of the roof blocks on Tank 4 has commenced. Monitoring of decontaminated blocks removed from the tanks has commenced in a low background area.
