RSRL publishes its Annual Sites Review 2010-11

RSRL has recently published the Annual Sites Review  for the year ending 31 March 2011.

The publication reflects on the past years performance and highlights RSRL’s achievements and successes, these include:

  • Waste processing exceeded target in building 462 at Harwell.
     
  • Completion of the remediation of part of the eastern end of the Harwell site, opening up land for delicensing and de-designation.
     
  • Emptying, decontamination and beginning of decommissioning of the External Active Sludge Tanks (EAST) for the Steam Generating Water Reactor at Winfrith.
     
  • Work carried out on the post operational clean out of the Active Handling Plant at Harwell, prior to moving the facility into care and maintenance.
     
  • Work began to prepare the Waste Encapsulation Treatment Plant (WETP) at Winfrith for demolition, with its mission now complete and more than 1,000 drums processed.
