RSRL supports Life Education Wessex
July 25, 2011
'Harold' the Giraffe and Life Education Wessex met children from Bovington School to say thank you to RSRL for their donation which will help provide Drug prevention and Health education to local children at schools near Winfrith site.
The Children’s charity teaches pupils between the age of 3 and 11 about the effects and risks associated with the use of drugs, including medicines, alcohol (including binge drinking) and smoking. They also teach children about the importance of healthy eating and about obesity. In addition they teach life skills and coping strategies such as how to overcome peer group pressure and bullying.
Lorraine Hewitt, Corporate Fundraiser for Life Education Wessex, commented "we are delighted that RSRL Winfrith has chosen to support our work and local children; we simply could not continue our work without such valuable assistance as we do not receive any statutory funding. Together we can make a real difference, helping to ensure that our young people remain safe, healthy and happy".
