RSRL encourages children to stay safe when they're ‘out and about’
December 2, 2011
RSRL recently sponsored children from three primary schools for ‘Out and About’ interactive learning resources through a scheme run by the Children’s Safety Education Foundation (CSEF), a national charity, which has reached over one million children through the provision of life saving safety programmes and educational resources.
The unique educational digital resource developed with the Governments Road Strategy “Tomorrows Roads - Safer for Everyone” in mind is designed to give children the knowledge, skills and understanding they need to travel safely on a daily basis.
Launched in conjunction with Road Safety Week (21st to 27th November) the teaching resource provides young people with help and advice on all aspects of travel safety including safety by road, foot, rail and plane and what to do in an emergency. The activities are designed, so that they not only stimulate discussion but also link to real life scenarios in a practical, dynamic and exciting way on a modern and relevant digital platform - whilst taking direct action against the schools carbon footprint by reducing the amount of paperwork needed in the classroom.
John McNamee, CSEF’s Chief Executive said, “we are delighted that once again Research Sites Restoration Ltd (RSRL) is taking a proactive approach in educating young people on road safety. By engaging and interacting with children on these safety issues, we are not only making them aware of the dangers and consequences, but it also allows them to make their own choices about safety.”
