On the 6th September the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and RSRL hosted a visit from the US Department of Energy.
The visit began with a welcome and overview from Commercial Director, Ian Caine, on the RSRL programme and Commercial Strategy. This was followed by a tour, led by Harwell Closure Director, Andy Staples and B462 Operations Manager, Stuart Watson, of the solid waste processing and storage complex. To complete the visit the visitors were given a tour of the Harwell site.
Andy Staples, Harwell Closure Director, commented "the visit was well received with a lot of interesting questions relating to shared experiences both in the contracting and operational aspects of nuclear decommissioning."
