Safety and Environment Reward and Recognition
RSRL Harwell-Winfrith sites also run a Safety and Environment Reward and Recognition. The scheme seeks to encourage employees and contract staff to report all safety related incidents, near misses or potential hazards, no matter how trivial. This is so the organisation can take positive action to prevent accidents from happening in the future.
As part of the Reward Scheme RSRL donates One Pound to four chosen charities per quarter for every safety related incident or near miss report it receives. The four charities sponsored in 2008/09:
- Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, Dorset
- Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, Oxfordshire
- Cancer Research UK, Oxfordshire
- Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), Dorset
Charities sponsored in 2009/10 so far:
- Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance
- Home Farm Trust - Oxfordshire and Berkshire
- Julia's House Hospice, Dorset
- Helen and Douglas House, Oxfordshire (also sponsored this year as part of our employee survey)
- Weldmar Hospicecare Trust, Dorset
